The second day of the only Test between Afghanistan and New Zealand has been canceled without a toss. The outfield has been damaged due to rain. Due to this, the match officials canceled the second day as well. The ground staff tried to dry the field in many ways but were unsuccessful. Not a single ball has been bowled in this match so far, because its first day i.e. 9 September was also washed away by rain. On the second day, the groundsmen tried many tricks. They used sponges and electric fans and tried to dry it with super soppers but none of the tricks worked. The players of both teams looked very disappointed due to the cancellation of the second day.

There has been a lot of rain in the Delhi-NCR region in the last few days. The only Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand was also to be played at the Greater Noida Sports Complex. But the rain spoiled the whole game. The condition of the ground is so bad that even the toss has not been done yet. However, the groundsmen have put in all their efforts. On the second day, they dug up the wet parts of the midfield area to dry it and were seen replacing it with dry parts from the net practice area. The umpires say that playing on it can be dangerous, players can get injured. Therefore, all the players are waiting for the field to dry in the hotel room. Some players also came to the ground to take stock of the situation.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board is hosting New Zealand in India. However, in the last few days, it has expressed displeasure over the condition and facilities of the Greater Noida ground. Recently, the board official had expressed displeasure and said that even basic facilities are not available on the ground. Also, the management has been very negligent, so they will never play in Greater Noida in the future. The board will give preference to the venue in Lucknow in the future. Afghanistan team captain Hasmatullah Shahidi also made fun of this venue a few days ago.
