Pawan Khera, while presenting the clarification on behalf of the Indian National Congress, wrote on his x handle that the comments made by his party's national spokesperson Dr. Shama Mohammad regarding the legendary cricketer do not represent the official view of the party. Pawan Khera wrote that he has instructed Shama Mohammad to remove her post from social media. And, she has also been advised to avoid such posts in future.

Regarding Shama Mohammad's post, Congress MP Rajni Patil also said that the party does not allow anyone to make such lewd comments. Being a party spokesperson, she should not have said such a thing at all. The party will definitely seek an answer from her in this matter.
