The Board of Control for Cricket in India is now going to implement the Impact Player rule in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. This domestic tournament in India is going to start on October 11. Under the Impact Player rule, any team can replace any one player from its playing XI during the match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is going to implement this rule in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy for this reason so that teams and players can adapt to this rule.

This rule can also be implemented by the BCCI in the upcoming IPL edition. A circular has been sent by the BCCI to all the state associations in this regard. According to the BCCI, a player can be included in the playing XI as a substitute under the Team Impact Player rule during the match.

At the time of toss, the teams will have to give the names of four substitute players along with the playing XI. Then any one of these four substitute players can be given a place in the playing XI as an impact player by the team.
