The fate of these two great cricketers of India shone on this day
Two former great cricketers of India, Rahul Dravid, and Sourav Ganguly will never have forgotten this day. On this day i.e. on June 20, 1996, these two reserve batsmen got the Test cap in the match against England.
Sanjay Manjrekar's ankle injury and Navjot Singh Sidhu's fight with captain Azharuddin gave both Dravid and Ganguly a chance to debut in Test cricket. Navjot Singh Sidhu had dropped himself from the team.
After losing the first match, Azharuddin showed confidence in two new players, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly. Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly did not disappoint captain Azhar with their performances. Sourav Ganguly scored 131 and Rahul Dravid scored 95 in the first innings of this match. Ganguly also took three wickets in this match.
