Sports Update: Virat Kohli left Martin Guptill behind in this matter, only 36 runs away from Rohit Sharma


Former Indian captain Virat Kohli scored a record century against Afghanistan in Thursday's Asia Cup 2022. He played a blistering 122 runs in just 61 balls in this match, which is the biggest innings of his T20 career. 


Based on these innings, Virat Kohli has overtaken New Zealand's Martin Guptill to become second in terms of scoring the most runs in T20 cricket. Virat Kohli now has 3584 runs in 96 innings of 104 matches. He has become the second batsman after Rohit Sharma to score more than 3500 runs in T20 cricket. 
Indian captain Rohit Sharma has scored 3620 runs in 128 innings of 136 matches. During this, he has scored 4 centuries and 28 half-centuries. Whereas Virat Kohli has scored one century and 32 half-centuries in his international T20 career. 


Martin Guptill has scored 3497 runs in 117 innings of 121 matches. While Paul Stirling of Ireland has scored 3011 and Australia's captain Aaron Finch has scored 2855 runs. In terms of runs, Virat Kohli is now only 36 runs behind Rohit Sharma.
