PV Sindhu reaches final of Singapore Open Super 500 tournament
Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu of India has entered the final of the Singapore Open Super 500 tournament. She defeated Japanese player Saina Kawakami in the semi-finals of the tournament.
World No. 7 PV Sindhu won the match in just 32 minutes. She defeated the Japanese player 21-15, and 21-7 in the semi-final match. With this, PV Sindhu's record against Japanese player Saina Kawakami has become 2-0. Earlier, Sindhu had also defeated this Japanese player in China Open 2018.
PV Sindhu will now have a chance to win her second title this year after the Swiss Open. PV Sindhu will face Japan's Aya Ohori or China's Ji Yi Wang in the final of the Singapore Open Super 500 tournament. Earlier, Saina Kawakami made a big upset by defeating sixth seed Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand 21-17, 21-19.
