The BCCI on Saturday announced Team India's squad for the Zimbabwe tour, with several senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma left out. Kohli has also been rested for the entire West Indies tour, and amid their ongoing slowdown, it was said that Kohli could have been included in the Indian squad for the Zimbabwe tour.

After not scoring his 71st century since 2019, fans on Twitter wrote that the 33-year-old could have scored three hundred in ODIs against Zimbabwe, but the BCCI rested Kohli, and is now returning straight from him for the Asia Cup.

Kohli's recent form has been under debate for a long time, with several former players urging him to take a break from cricket. Now that the former India captain is on a break, fans were not happy with the BCCI's decision as they wanted to see the Delhi-born cricketer in action.

Meanwhile, Kohli was not the only senior player to be rested from the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, along with several other regular players like Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah.

India squad for Zimbabwe ODI: Shikhar Dhawan (capt), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, Famous Krishna, Mohammad Siraj, Deepak Chahar.
