Martin Guptill made this record in the T20 match played against Scotland on Wednesday. Guptill scored 40 runs in the match. During this innings, he has left behind Rohit Sharma in terms of scoring the most runs in this format of cricket.
Martin Guptill now has 3399 runs in international T20 cricket. While Rohit Sharma has scored 3379 runs. In this case, former Indian captain Virat Kohli is in third place.
Kohli has 3308 runs in T20 cricket. Ireland's Paul Starling (2894 runs) is fourth and Australia's captain Aaron Finch (2855 runs) is fifth. In the first match, New Zealand defeated Scotland by 68 runs.
