Indian captain Rohit Sharma has registered a world record in his name by playing a stormy half-century innings in the first match of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Rohit Sharma played a stormy inning of 83 runs in 67 balls in this match against Sri Lanka. Although he could not convert this innings into a century. He hit 9 fours and 3 long sixes during this innings.

With this, Rohit Sharma has become the first batsman in the world to score half-centuries while playing at number 9 and number 1 in two consecutive innings.

Earlier, he scored a half-century of 51 runs in the second ODI against Bangladesh while batting at number 9. Due to injury, he got a chance to bat at number 9 in this match.
