The 8th day of the Commonwealth Games 2022 was a golden success for India. India won six medals, including three gold, in the Commonwealth Games on Friday. These include one silver and two bronze medals.

India got this success in wrestling on Friday. Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Deepak Poonia won gold medals in wrestling for India. While female wrestler Anshu Malik won the silver medal. On the other hand, Mohit Grewal and Divya Kakran were successful in winning the bronze medal. 

In the first final match, Nigerian player Odunayo Edikoroyo defeated Anshu Malik 7-4. Bajrang defeated Canadian wrestler Laklan McNeil 9-2 to win the gold medal in the 65kg category. In the 62 kg weight category, India's Sakshi Malik defeated Ana Godinez of Canada to achieve golden success.

Deepak Poonia won the gold medal by defeating Pakistani wrestler Mohammad Inam in the 86 kg weight category. However, India was disappointed in women's hockey. He had to face defeat against Australia.
