45 pitches, 3 stadiums, PM Narendra Modi can inaugurate B CCI's new NCA, know what is special
The Board of Control for Cricket in India is constantly taking big steps to take cricket to new heights in the country. An important part of this is the new National Cricket Academy, for which the Indian Board has spent crores of rupees and it is going to start soon. This academy, which has been built in Bengaluru, will be inaugurated this month and if the BCCI's plan is successful, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new NCA. A report has stated that this new academy of the board will start on September 27, which has 3 big stadiums, many practice pitches, and other modern facilities.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah had announced a few days ago that the new cricket academy is almost ready and will be inaugurated soon. Now the Times of India has reported in its report that it will be inaugurated during the BCCI's AGM i.e. annual meeting to be held on September 27. The report has revealed, quoting BCCI sources, that PM Modi is likely to inaugurate it. This academy has been built for about Rs 500 crore.
The current academy of the Indian Board was started in the 2000s and since then this academy has been run from the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. For the last 20 years, there have been talks of building a new and bigger academy away from the stadium, but work on it could never be done. Then after becoming the secretary of BCCI in 2019, Jai Shah implemented it, but due to Kovid, its construction could not start on time. Then its foundation stone was laid in February 2022. After about two and a half years of construction work, the academy is ready, which will be away from the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Now the question is what will be different and special in this new academy? First of all, this academy is spread over a very large area. This center built on hundreds of acres of land has three big cricket grounds, which will be of international cricket level. That means if needed, international cricket matches can be held here. Apart from the grounds, this academy will also have adequate resources for the practice of the players. The board has prepared a total of 45 practice pitches here, in which many players can practice at the same time. These pitches are important not only in terms of numbers but also in terms of need. Here the pitches have been prepared according to the high-bounce conditions of Australia and South Africa.
Apart from this, there is also an indoor practice facility here, so that the players do not face any problem in practicing even in the event of rain. Not only this, an Olympic-sized swimming pool has also been built here, in which the players will be able to refresh themselves and it will also help in rehabilitation. Apart from this, there are sports science facilities and modern training facilities, which will help in injury management. Not only this, 70 rooms with good facilities have also been prepared for the players to stay in NCA. Overall, this academy will help in improving the future of Indian cricket.
