There have been changes again in the Sri Lankan team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. This time Sri Lanka Cricket Board has made 4 changes to the team for the mega event. The board had sent 22 players to the UAE.

 For the third time, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has changed the team for the T20 World Cup. At last, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board had selected the team for the mega event and a few days ago the board had made some changes and now before the deadline of the International Cricket Council ie ICC, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has finalized its team, in which 4 changes were made. Huh.

Spinner Akila Dhananjaya, batsman Pathum Nisanka, fast bowler Lahiru Kumara and Binura Fernando have been included in the 15-member squad by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) for the T20 World Cup. On Sunday, the country's cricket board confirmed that these four players have replaced all-rounders Lahiru Madushanka and Kamindu Mendis, spinner Praveen Jayawickrama and veteran pacer Nuwan Pradeep. Madushanka was ruled out of the tournament after suffering a fracture in his collarbone during the T20I series against South Africa.

Middle-order batsman Kusal Perera, who was in doubt due to a hamstring injury, regained fitness at the last minute and made it to the squad. Sri Lanka, led by Dasun Shanaka, will take on Namibia in their opening match of the tournament in Abu Dhabi on 18 October. The Sri Lankan team has to play round 1 matches to reach the Super 12.
