Was there fixing in the Bangladesh Premier League?
According to media reports, the BCB's Anti-Corruption Unit has identified eight matches of the tournament on suspicion of spot-fixing and match-fixing based on anonymous tips and media reports. It was also reported that 10 players are under the ACU's investigation, while they are also keeping a close watch on the activities of four franchises. Out of the 10 cricketers under the ACU investigation, six have played for the Bangladesh national team, two are uncapped Bangladeshi players and two are foreign cricketers.
Bangladesh Cricket Board president Farooq Ahmed said the board will take strict action against any cricketer found guilty of any wrongdoing in the country's premier franchise-based T20 tournament, the Bangladesh Premier League. "Look, until the investigation is complete, I cannot make any official comment in this regard because there is a protocol that we have to follow. If something comes out during the investigation, you know the punishment will be quite harsh, and if I find out something, their life will be quite different because I will not spare any culprit," Farooq told Cricbuzz.
