CDS Exam (Combined Defense Services Exam)

CDS exam is a major exam for recruitment of officers in the Indian Army. This exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year, in January and November.

Candidates who qualify the written exam are called for interview. The interview consists of physical test, mental test and group discussion. Selected candidates have to clear medical examination.

National Defense Academy Exam

NDA or NA exam is conducted twice a year in April and September. To appear in this exam, candidates must have passed 12th. Through NDA, one can join Army, Navy, and Air Force. In NDA exam, candidates are shortlisted through selection written exam and then SSB interview.

Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme

Candidates can get a job in the Indian Army by passing the examination conducted by the Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme. This examination is conducted once a year. The application process is conducted in June-July. To get selected for these posts, candidates will have to pass the shortlisting, interview and medical test stages. To apply for this examination, candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in 12th.

Indian Army Soldier Recruitment Exam

Indian Army Soldier Recruitment Exam is conducted for various posts. The exam includes physical efficiency test, medical test and written examination. To apply in this, the candidate must be 10th or 12th pass (according to the post). The age limit of the applicant for the examination conducted under this recruitment should be between 17.5 to 23 years.

Short Service Commission, SSC Exam

Candidates are recruited for both technical and non-technical posts in the Indian Army through the Short Service Commission exam . This exam is held twice every year in April and October. The educational qualification to appear in this exam should be an engineering degree for technical posts and only a graduation degree for non-technical posts. The age limit should be 19 to 25 years (Non-Technical) and 20 to 27 years (Technical).
