In this city you will find the world's largest steerable radio telescope. Green Bank Telescope (GBT) is the most important factor due to which people living in this city do not use electronic items. The population of this town is only 150 people. The GBT located here is a huge telescope which has a length of 485 feet and weight of 7,600 metric tons. The unique feature of the telescope is its mobility, allowing it to be easily moved from one place to another.

The city's Green Bank Telescope is home to the United States National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). Scientists at this observatory research the waves that come from space and descend to Earth. This telescope can catch signals from space 13 billion light years away.
