Private sector employees have a lucrative retirement savings scheme known as the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF). Both employees and companies contribute to this scheme.

Lakhs of people in India are availing the services of EPF. It is not just a retirement savings fund but also allows individuals to withdraw money in case of emergencies. You can submit EPF requests online without leaving your home. Let us understand the steps involved:

  • To withdraw EPF funds, first go to the official website of the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php.
  • Enter your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password. Then, input the given captcha.
  • After successful login, click on “Online Services” and select the “Claim Form” option.
  • Select Advance EPF Withdrawal Form.
  • Enter the last four digits of your bank account and verify it.
  • Proceed for online claim by clicking on “Proceed for Online Claim”.
  • Select Form 31 for EPF Advance.
  • You will have to select any reason from the reasons given below.
  • Then the amount you want to withdraw. That has to be entered.
  • After this, you will have to scan the check or upload a copy of the passbook. And you will have to enter your address.
  • Click on “Generate OTP on Aadhaar” and enter the received OTP.
  • After receiving the OTP, your claim will be submitted as soon as you enter it.
