Don't eat too much red meat

If you are non-vegetarian and consume red meat, then you should take special care of its quantity. Eating too much red meat, especially processed red meat, increases your risk of heart disease and some cancers. Therefore, try to include lean proteins like poultry, fish, beans and nuts in your diet and minimize the consumption of red meat.

Do not take too much sugar

Although it is not always considered good to consume sugar, women above 50 years of age should be more conscious about the consumption of sugar. If you consume too many sugary foods then the chances of weight gain, diabetes heart disease etc. increase manifold. It would be better if you include only natural sugar from fruits in your diet and avoid sugary snacks, sweets drinks etc.

Avoid low-calcium foods

After 50, your diet should be such that it includes calcium-rich foods. The age of 50 is the menopause stage for women and after menopause, they are at higher risk of osteoporosis. Calcium is very important for maintaining bone health. When you take low-calcium food, it reduces bone density. Therefore, include calcium-rich foods in your diet.

Do not take processed food

After the age of 50, you should stay away from processed and packaged foods as much as possible. This is because such foods often contain high levels of sodium. Excessive consumption of sodium can cause high blood pressure. Due to this there is additional pressure on the person's heart. Therefore, when you avoid eating them, it can help manage blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart-related problems.
