The central government runs many schemes for the citizens of the country to meet the needs of different sections of society. Some schemes are specifically designed for senior citizens, some for women, while others target individuals based on their specific occupations. One such scheme is the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, which provides assistance to skilled workers and provides them financial assistance. Let us know who can get the benefit of this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria:

The benefits of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana will be provided to workers belonging to specific professions covered under the scheme. A total of 18 occupations are mentioned, including carpenters, cobblers, washermen, tailors, locksmiths, blacksmiths, pottery makers, broom makers, sculptors, stone breakers, fishermen, tool kit makers, basket/weavers /Including broom makers, boat makers and masons. Applicants must have a certificate in one of these trades from a recognized institute. To apply for the scheme the age of the applicant should be between 18 to 50 years.

Benefits of the Scheme:

Under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, 15 days of training is provided by the government to the individuals enrolled in the scheme. They get an incentive of ₹500 per day during the training period. Additionally, upon completion of the training, they are provided ₹15,000 to purchase equipment so they can continue their work. Apart from this, the scheme also provides for loans. Beneficiaries are eligible for a loan of ₹3 lakh, of which ₹2 lakh is disbursed initially. This loan is provided without any guarantee and at a low-interest rate.

Click on 'How to Register' and enter your mobile number and Aadhaar card number on the page that appears. Click on the 'Verification' option. Upload the required documents and click on 'Submit' to complete the application process.
