Shrinathji is worshipped here in the child form.

Let us tell you, the story of Shrinathji's temple is linked to the time of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. When Aurangzeb ordered the demolition of many Hindu temples in the country, at that time the idol of Shri Krishna in child form made in Mathura was taken away for safekeeping. According to historian Chandrashekhar Sharma, this idol was brought to Mewar and Shrinathji temple was built here. This temple is still an important pilgrimage site for the followers of Hinduism.

Maharana had promised to protect the statue from Aurangzeb

This idol was brought to Mewar by the people of the Vaishnav sect. The then ruler of Mewar Maharana Raj Singh had assured to protect the idol from the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

After this, the tradition of worshipping this idol started in Mewar. A grand mansion was built for Shrinathji at the same place where the bullock cart had stopped while bringing the idol.
