What is Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the first instalment of which will be deposited in the accounts of women today?

Mahtari Vandana Yojana is a scheme launched by the Government of Chhattisgarh in India. Under this scheme, eligible women will get financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month. The scheme was initially mentioned in the election manifesto of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Chhattisgarh, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi later assured that the central government would fulfil this commitment.

From March 10, the Chhattisgarh government has started implementing the Mahtari Vandana Yojana, and the first instalment of Rs 1,000 is set to be transferred into the bank accounts of eligible women. Chhattisgarh Finance Minister Gopi Chaudhary gave this information during a press conference.

To be eligible for the benefits of Mahtari Vandana Yojana in Chhattisgarh, women must fulfil certain criteria. The scheme is applicable to all married women aged 21 years and above. Chhattisgarh citizenship is a condition to avail of the benefits. Unmarried women above 21 years of age are not eligible for this scheme.

The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to women and under this program eligible women will get Rs 12,000 annually as financial assistance from the government.
