The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms in northwest India and heavy rains in the Himalayan regions between March 30 and 31. IMD has also predicted light rain in Delhi on Saturday. Warnings of storms and hailstorms have also been issued in many parts of Uttarakhand.

IMD has predicted rain and thundershowers in Dehradun, Garhwal, Haridwar, Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi. There is also a possibility of hailstorms during this period.

There is a possibility of hailstorms in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on March 30 to 31. Apart from this, hailstorms and rain may also occur in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

An alert has also been issued for north-eastern states including Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on Saturday as light rain has been predicted in these areas.

Also, heavy rain or snowfall may occur in isolated areas of Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from this, sporadic rain may also be seen in Assam and Meghalaya between March 30 and April 1. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of Nagaland.

The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in north-west India. Heavy rain is expected in the Western Himalayan region from 30 to 31 March.

In its Friday evening bulletin, the IMD said that Delhi areas including Jafarpur, Najafgarh and Indira Gandhi International Airport, as well as Haryana's Gurgaon, Manesar, Ganaur, Sonipat, Kharkhoda, Farukhnagar, Palwal, Aurangabad and Hodal, were affected by 40 lakh people. There is a possibility of rain and hailstorms with strong winds of 60 km/hour.
