1. Store at room temperature: If you are not going to eat the watermelon right away , it is best to store it at room temperature. This helps in maintaining the nutritional value of watermelon. Apart from this, if the watermelons are slightly raw, then ripening also helps. Keep it in a cool and dark place so that it is not exposed to direct sunlight.

2. Wrap it in plastic: The most difficult thing to do is to store the leftover watermelon. So don't worry just wrap it in cling wrap and keep it in the fridge. On the other hand, if you have cut it into small pieces , then keep them in an air-tight container and store them in the fridge. This prevents them from drying out and also helps in retaining their moisture.

3. Do not remove the peel: Another important thing to keep in mind while storing watermelon is not to remove its peel. Peel only the part you can eat. Like plastic wrap, the peel also helps retain its moisture and prevents it from drying out.

4. Do not store with apples and bananas: If you have a lot of fruits, note that do not store them with apples and bananas. That's because both of these fruits release ethylene gas, which can make watermelon ripen faster. In such a situation, over-ripening of ripe watermelon can spoil its taste and it can also spoil quickly.

5. Freeze: If you want the watermelon to last longer, it is best to store it in the freezer. For this, peel off the watermelon and cut it into small cubes. Transfer them to an air-tight container or wrap them in plastic wrap and put them in the freezer.
