Diwali is a beautiful festival of lights that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is a five-day celebration and the first day is celebrated as Dhanteras or Dhantrayodashi. It is one of the most important days in the Hindu tradition on which Lord Dhanvantari (physician of the gods) is worshipped. He is a symbol of wealth, prosperity, and good health.

It is believed that buying something new is mandatory and auspicious to welcome Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber; you can buy gold, silver, utensils, a broom, gold coins, a vehicle, etc. But there are some things which you should not buy and we are going to tell you about them.

Glass utensils

should not be bought on Dhanteras day nor should any glass item be purchased. This brings negativity to the house and also hinders peace and happiness.

Black-colored items:

One should also avoid buying black-coloured items like clothes or other things on Dhanteras. This is considered extremely auspicious. Buy items of light and auspicious colours like whitcolors or yellow on this day.

Iron items

Iron items should not be purchased on Dhanteras. Iron is considered heavy and cold, which can affect the positive energy of the house.

You should also avoid buying sharp objects

like knives, scissors, etc. Sharp objects cause turmoil and discord in the house.

Old or used things

Buy only new things on Dhanteras. Buying old or second-hand things should be avoided on this day. This brings negativity.
