UP Board Exam 2024: Due to strictness, more than 3 lakh people left the exam on the very first day!

Yesterday, on February 22, the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education started the board examinations for classes 10th and 12th. The first day of examinations was successfully conducted with monitoring through voice recorders and CCTV cameras at 8,265 examination centres. Additionally, the first day of the examination was also successfully conducted at 8 jail centres specially arranged for the jailed candidates. However, due to strict measures in the exam, more than 3 lakh students opted not to appear on the first day.

In the first session, Hindi and Elementary Hindi papers for class 10th as well as the Military Science examination for class 12th were conducted. In the second session, the Commerce paper was conducted for class 10th and the Hindi and General Hindi paper for class 12th. In the first session, 2,03,299 out of 29,43,786 registered students were absent, while in the second session, 1,30,242 out of 24,67,715 registered candidates were absent. Altogether 3,33,541 students remained absent in both sessions.

7 solvers were caught.

5 candidates were caught using unfair means in the high school examination, out of which 4 were boys and 1 was a girl. An FIR has been lodged against 7 solvers and 1 centre administrator in the first shift examination. This time, the UP Board exams are being conducted using advanced methods, with QR codes on the answer sheets. Besides, ID cards with bar codes have also been provided to the supervisors.

Last year, more than 4 lakh students had left the examination.

Last year, 2,18,189 students of class 12 and 1,83,865 students of class 10 did not appear in the examination on the first day of the examination. More than 59 lakh students had registered for the 2023 board exams. Last year, on the first day of the examination, 9 Munnabhais were caught at the examination centres in place of other students. All of them had reached the examination centres in place of other students.
