The Government of India implements various schemes involving various initiatives for the welfare of its citizens. Many of these schemes are specifically designed to benefit women. One such scheme includes providing financial assistance up to ₹15,000 for sewing machines. Let us know the details of this scheme and how individuals can avail its benefits.

Vishwakarma Scheme:

Actually, the Government of India is not running any scheme where sewing machines are directly provided to women. Instead, the government has launched Vishwakarma Yojana to empower women and make them self-reliant. Under this scheme, women are given tailoring training and on completion of the course they get a financial grant of ₹15,000. This helps them buy sewing machines and continue sewing work at home, supporting their household expenses. Many women are applying for this scheme. It is noteworthy that under this scheme, apart from sewing, participants are also trained in many other skills. If you specifically require a sewing machine, you will need to register for this scheme.

How to Apply:

To avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, you first need to visit the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) to register for the scheme. Aadhar card details will be required for the registration process. Once you apply, the training will begin, and participants will receive a daily stipend of ₹500 during the training period. After completing the training, participants will receive ₹1,500 to purchase a tool kit. To register for the scheme, after applying at CSC, visit the official website https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in/.
