Kumara mountain is very famous among trekkers, the supernatural form of Shiva's son has been seen above in the clouds

Kumara Parvat, located in the Western Ghats, is one of the best tourist places to visit in Karnataka. Coming here, it seems as if you are above the clouds. There is an ancient and famous temple called Kukke Subrahmanya at the foothills and just behind the Kukke Subrahmanya temple, this mountain is amidst the lush green forest of Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary.

Kumara Parvat, also known as Pushpagiri, is hidden most of the time and becomes visible only after crossing the rest of the mountain, but the entire route is known as Kumara Parvat Trek.

If you want to do the Kumara mountain trek, then the best time to visit here is after the monsoons, from October to May, when there is greenery all around, and you get to see the views of the clouds.

Mount Kumar, the highest peak of Karnataka, is situated on the second Mount Kailash of the earth, according to the scriptures, Mahadev Shiva appeared on this peak only. According to the scriptures, Mahadev lived here for a few days. According to the marks found on the top, Shiva's son is still present on Kumar Parvat.

Local people believe that there is evidence of Murugan Swami i.e. Lord Kartikeya being on Kumar mountain even today. From Kumar Parvat, the supernatural picture of Shiva's son is visible in the clouds. It is a belief that Kaal Sarp Dosh is removed on reaching Kumar Parvat.

There is no entry fee for the Kumara Parvat trek. The trekking timings here are from 5 in the morning to 5 in the evening. Apart from this, you can visit other tourist places nearby, such as Kukke Subramanya Temple, Mandalpatti Peak, Kote Abbe Falls, etc.

Kukke Subramanya is at a distance of 280 km from Bengaluru and 105 km from Mangaluru (the nearest airport). The Subramanya Road railway station is at a distance of 12 km from Kukke Subramanya. You will find limited bus services available from Mangaluru or Bangalore to reach Kukke Subramanya.
