Many types of facilities are provided to people during train travel, due to which train travel is quite comfortable. Lakhs of people travel every day in superfast trains operated by Indian Railways to reach from one place to another.

There are some rules for travelling by train, which are important for you to know. Violating these may result in a fine. There is also a limit on the amount of luggage you can carry on the train and if you carry more than this, you may have to pay additional charges.

If you are caught with excess luggage during train travel, you may have to pay a fine.

While travelling on the train, you can carry luggage weighing 40 to 70 kg for free from sleeper class to first class.

If you want to carry extra luggage on the train then the minimum charge for this is Rs 30. For extra luggage, you must reach the luggage office 30 minutes before departure.
