The updated Skoda Kodiaq will arrive in India early next year, the company has confirmed
Czech Republic's leading automaker Skoda is all set to launch the new updated Kodiaq 7-seater SUV in India early next year. This has been confirmed by the company itself.
Skoda is all set to launch the updated Kodiaq 7-seater SUV in India in January 2022. This information has come from Zack Hollis, Head of Sales and Marketing, Director, Skoda India. He also confirmed that the company has no plans to launch the Karoq compact SUV. As you know, the Skoda Karoq was discontinued before the arrival of the Kushaq SUV. The earlier one was priced at Rs 24.99 lakh and was powered by a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine that produced 148 Bhp and 250 Nm. It was imported through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route under the new homologation rule.
Will get these changes
Notable cosmetic changes have been made to the SUV. The new Kodiaq facelift will see things like a redesigned front grille, updated LED matrix headlamps, revised front and rear bumpers, and a clearer bonnet. It also gets a set of redesigned alloy wheels and slightly tweaked taillamps. While no change will be seen in the interior layout. The updated model gets two-spoke steering as seen on the Taigun subcompact SUV.
The list of features is long
The SUV gets the option of electrically adjustable leather ergonomics seats as well as new seat designs. Most of the features have been carried over from the current model. The new 2022 Skoda Kodiaq comes with the brand's 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, 10-speaker Canton sound system with automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. The existing 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system could be replaced with a larger 9.2-inch unit, which is offered on the global-spec model.
Engine and power
Skoda's new SUV will come with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine. Which will be mated to a 7-speed DSG (Dual Clutch Automatic) gearbox. The gasoline unit has been tuned to produce 190PS of power and 320Nm of torque. It will be available with AWD (all-wheel drive) system which will be standard across the model lineup. However, like other cars of the company, it will not have the option of a diesel engine.
