Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, people travelling in vehicles operated by aggregators like city taxis, Ola and Uber have suffered a major setback. Now people will find it expensive to travel in these. According to reports, the Karnataka government has now revised the fares for cab services within the state ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The Karnataka government has now given a big shock to passengers by increasing the fares of vehicles running under aggregators like city taxis, Ola and Uber. The Transport Department of Karnataka has divided these fares into three parts, which have been determined based on the cost of the vehicles. The new fares from the Transport Department of Karnataka include minimum and extra charges per km.

A surcharge was also added for night travel. Now, for a night journey through these, you will have to pay more fare than during the day.

Under the new rule, for vehicles up to Rs 10 lakh, the minimum fare for four km has been fixed at Rs 100 and for every extra km, it has been fixed at Rs 24. Whereas for vehicles priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, a minimum of Rs 115 and Rs 28 for every additional km will have to be paid, and for vehicles above Rs 15 lakh, a minimum of Rs 130 and Rs 32 per additional km will have to be paid.
