Why does dehydration happen?

When you are exposed to sunlight and high temperatures for a long time in the summer season, due to this most of the water in the body gets lost and then the core temperature of the body starts increasing. Due to this, the sympathetic nervous system gets activated and the body starts releasing stress hormones. Blood volume also reduces due to lack of water. Due to the thickening of the blood, there is extra pressure on the heart and arteries. In such a situation, our skin radiates heat rapidly. In this situation, there is less sweating and the body is not able to cool down. This is what causes heat stroke and dehydration

What to do to avoid dehydration?

In this scorching heat, you should take special care of your health, if you are above 50 then you need to be even more alert. Otherwise, even a little carelessness can harm you. Let us know what can be done to avoid this.

1. Keep drinking water

Most of our body is made up of water, if there is a shortage of it, it can cause dehydration, to avoid this you have to drink a sufficient amount of water throughout the day. Apart from this, you can drink coconut water, lemonade, and many types of fresh fruit juices.

2. Go out of the house less

When it is hot and sunny outside, try to stay at home and leave the house only when necessary. When going out, avoid direct sunlight, wear light, cotton, and loose-fitting clothes, and use a scarf, hat, cap, or scarf. Always keep a bottle of water with you.

3. How to use the car

During the day, your car becomes a furnace of fire due to the greenhouse effect, in such a situation, turn on the AC for about 10 minutes before sitting inside the car and then ride it. Switch off the AC a few minutes before reaching your destination, so that you get acclimated to the outside temperature.

4. Recognize the symptoms

To avoid dehydration, you must recognize the symptoms associated with it beforehand. If your urine is turning dark yellow, your mouth and throat are dry, you have a headache, dizziness, breathing problems, fever, low blood pressure, and increased heart rate, then drink water immediately and contact a doctor if needed.
