Jaya Kishori on Women's Periods: Women's 'those days' are very difficult. But these days of menstruation are made even more difficult by the many rules that are imposed on women during this time. Women should not go to the temple during periods. Women are considered impure during these days. But story teller Jaya Kishori does not believe so. She says that all this was said in the old times for some reasons but in between it has been told in a wrong way. It is not that women are impure. Voices of protest are also being heard on this answer of Jaya Kishori.
Every rule had some meaning, the middlemen messed it up
Jaya Kishori has been a part of many podcasts in the recent past. She was seen sharing her views at many places. In one such podcast, she was asked that women are told not to eat pickles and not to go to the temple during their periods. What do you follow yourself? On this, Jaya Kishori said that there were some reasons behind some of the things that were told. Like it has been scientifically proven that you should not eat sour things during periods. But the children did not listen, so they were told not to touch it, it will get spoiled. Secondly, when one had to go out, the arrangements were not like that earlier. Today there are pads, and many other arrangements. Earlier all this was not there, so you had to stay inside the house. These were the reasons due to which these things were made that women should not go out, should not go to the temple. But the middlemen came and spoiled things by calling us 'untouchable' or such things.
Goddess Draupadi was touched by Lord Krishna when she was menstruating: Kishori
Jaya Kishori said, 'Women become very weak from inside during periods. They are at an increased risk of getting any disease. That is why they are advised to take rest.' She further says that when Lord Shri Krishna also touched Devi Draupadi during menstruation, then we should not even think about this thing. We should change our thinking.'
After this statement of Jaya Kishori, many people have objected to her statement. Anuj Ji Maharaj said in his story, 'Tell me, do you offer food to God during menstruation? Will you do it like this?' He further said, 'Our job is to tell you the truth, not to say anything.' Apart from this, many people have registered their protest on this statement of Jaya Kishori on social media. They say that you cannot interpret religion on your own basis.
