Today is the festival of Janmashtami and preparations are going on all around for the birth of Lord Shri Krishna. Bhajans of God are being sung in the temples since morning and preparations for the puja are going on. Those performing puja and fasting will also be preparing to eat fruits. In such a situation, today we have brought for you the recipe for making coconut barfi.


  • Coconut - 1 kg, cardamom 
  • powder - 1 teaspoon powdered
  • milk powder - 1 packet 
  • Khoya - 250 grams 
  • Desi ghee - 200 grams 
  • Powdered sugar - 500 grams 
  • Dry fruits - 250 grams 


You have to first mash the khoya and keep a pan on the gas and heat it by adding ghee. When the ghee becomes hot, add dry fruits and let them become light brown. Then take out the dry fruits and add cardamom, coconut powder, sugar, khoya and make them light brown. After this, take it out in a big plate and put dry fruits on top and freeze it. After this cut it in the shape of barfi.
