Mahashivratri is an important Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is considered to be the day of his divine marriage with Goddess Parvati. All over India, pujas are performed on this day in temples and homes and various dishes are also offered to the Lord. A special prasad for the occasion is Thandai, a refreshing drink. You can make Thandai even without bhang and today we have brought its recipe for you. So let us know how you can make it.
Ingredients for Thandai:
Almonds
Cashews
Pistachios
Watermelon seeds
Poppy seeds
Green cardamom
Black pepper
Dry rose petals Sugar
Saffron Fennel Milk
Process:
- Soak almonds in hot water for 10 minutes.
- Along with this, soak cashews, pistachios, melon seeds and poppy seeds in hot water for 10 minutes.
- Peel the almonds after they are soaked.
- Put all the soaked ingredients in a blender jar and add some milk. Make a smooth paste.
- Mix a small amount of saffron in milk.
- Grind green cardamom, black pepper and dry rose petals finely.
- Boil milk, add sugar and stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add saffron mixed milk to boiling milk.
- Grind the spice mixture and mix it with milk.
- Finally, add the paste to the milk and mix well. Cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
- Let the Thandai cool down and offer it to Lord Shiva on Mahashivratri and enjoy it with family members
