Recipe- Now make Indori-style steamed poha at home, note down the recipe!

Poha of Indore is famous. Here poha is prepared especially by steaming. This poha is soft and delicious, making it an excellent option for breakfast. If you are tired of the usual oily poha, try Indore-style steamed poha.

Ingredients to make Steamed Poha:

  • About 2 cups poha
  • half cup sev
  • half cup roasted peanuts
  • finely chopped fresh coriander
  • some curry leaves
  • 1 lemon
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • salt to taste
  • finely chopped green chillies
  • Mustard seeds
  • finely chopped onion
  • finely chopped tomatoes

Method to make Steamed Poha:

- First of all, wash the poha thoroughly with water 1-2 times. Mix sugar, salt and turmeric in poha.

- Leave the poha like this for 5 minutes.

When the Poha swells, toss it with your hands or a spoon.

- Take poha by filling a sieve in a vessel and keep it in water to boil.

-Place the strainer containing poha over boiling water and cover it.

- Steam the poha on a medium flame for about 10 minutes.

-When the poha is cooked, take it out and squeeze lemon juice on top.

- Now prepare tadka to pour over poha.

- Add 1 teaspoon oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and green chillies in a pan. Fry them till the mustard seeds crackle.

- Pour this tempering over the poha.

Add chopped onion, tomato and green coriander on top.

-Alternatively, you can fry the peanuts in tempered oil or add them as is.

-For crispiness of steamed poha, add extra sev on top and serve hot.
