Most people have enjoyed poha as a breakfast option, but have you ever tried making cheela (pancake) from poha? Yes, poha can be used to make cheela which is not only healthy but also incredibly tasty. If you have never made it before, you can easily prepare it using our method.

Ingredients for Poha Cheela:

Poha (flattened rice) – 1 cup

chopped tomatoes – 1

chopped onion – 1

chopped green chilli – 1 tsp

chopped fresh coriander – 2 tbsp 

gram flour– 2 tsp 

semolina– 2 tsp

curry leaves – 6-7

sesame seeds – 1 tsp

Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

Turmeric - 1/4 tsp

Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp

Oil as required

Salt as per taste

How to make Poha Cheela:

If you want to make Poha Cheela for breakfast, then first of all take good quality Poha and wash it thoroughly with water 2 to 3 times. After this, soak the poha in water for 5 minutes. During this time, finely chop onion, tomato, green chili, and fresh coriander. Now remove excess water from the soaked poha and put it in the blender. Blend it to make a paste. -Take out the prepared paste in a big bowl. 

Add finely chopped onion, tomato, green chili, and fresh coriander to the poha paste and mix well. Next, add one tablespoon each of gram flour and semolina. After this add cumin powder, red chili powder, turmeric, and other spices to the mixture. Mix everything well. Now, add water as per your wish to prepare the batter.

Once the batter is ready, place a non-stick pan on medium flame and add some oil to it. Spread the batter on the pan and make a round cheela. Let it cook for some time until the edges turn golden. -Put some oil on the edges and turn the cheela and cook it from the other side as well. Cook the cheela until it turns light golden on both sides. Once done, take it out on a plate.
