Jackfruit is a vegetable which people prepare with great enthusiasm. Its taste is unique and people eat it just like mutton or chicken. During Holi, people enjoy it with Malpua and its combination is equivalent to Litti Chokha. Not only this, but the special thing about this vegetable is that apart from its chutney, and pickle, people also make kofta and pakodas. Today we will learn to make jackfruit vegetables like mutton or chicken.

To make jackfruit curry similar to mutton or chicken, you will need:

Half kg chopped jackfruit

5 finely chopped onions

2 green

chillies Garlic

Tomato chutney

Ginger

Curd Garam

masala

Salt

Turmeric, coriander and chilli powder 

Mustard oil

Cumin

Recipe:

-Peel, cut the jackfruit and keep it aside.

-Before making jackfruit curry, marinate it in curd for some time.

-Take jackfruit, add curd, half a teaspoon turmeric, cumin powder, coriander, chilli, chopped onion, garlic, ginger and salt. Mix well and leave for some time.

-Let it marinate for about 30 minutes.

Now take a big pan or kadai and prepare curry in it.

-First of all heat mustard oil in the pan.

When the oil is hot, add some cumin, red chilli, bay leaf and asafoetida.

Now turn the jackfruit marinated in curd into the pan.

-Cook everything on low flame.

- Add remaining spices like turmeric powder, coriander powder and then chilli powder.

-If garam masala powder is not available then fry all the spices and add it.

-Add salt and fenugreek leaves.

-Mix it well and let it cook slowly on low flame.

-When it is cooked and aroma and colour start coming from it, add water to it.

- Cover the curry and let it cook. Keep checking the jackfruit from time to time to see whether it is ripe or not.

-When it is cooked well, turn off the gas.

-Garnish with coriander leaves.
