Dhokla is a popular and delicious snack enjoyed all over India, especially in the state of Gujarat. Making Dhokla at home is quite simple, and we will give you an easy recipe. Follow these steps to prepare delicious and spicy dhokla.


Gram flour - 200 grams

Curd - 150 grams

Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Oil - 1 tablespoon

Salt - as per taste

Baking soda - 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon

Oil (for tempering) - 1 tablespoon

Green chilli - 7 -8 (peeled)

Curry leaves - 10-12

Mustard seeds - 1 tablespoon

Chopped coriander 

Water- 1 cup


To make Dhokla batter, mix gram flour, turmeric powder, oil, curd, salt and water in a bowl. Keep the batter aside for 10-15 minutes.

Add baking soda to the batter and mix well.

Pour the batter into the steamer and let it steam for 15-20 minutes.

For tempering, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, asafoetida and water. Cover the pan and turn off the flame.

Pour the tadka over the boiled dhokla.

Garnish the dhokla with fresh coriander.

Your delicious and spicy Dhokla is ready to serve. Enjoy it with the chutney of your choice.
