Khichdi is not only easy to make but also very tasty to eat and is also high in protein. That's why today we have brought the recipe for this for you.


Rice - ½ cup

Yellow Moong Dal - ½ cup

Onion - 1 small finely chopped

Tomato - 1 medium size finely chopped

Green Chilli - 1 finely chopped Ginger

Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp

Oil - 1 tbsp

Cumin - 1 tsp

Asafoetida - ¼ tsp

Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Ghee for serving

Coriander leaves a handful of finely chopped

Water - 3 to 4 cups



Wash and soak rice and moong dal for 15 minutes.

Heat oil in a cooker, add cumin, and asafoetida, and let it crackle.

Add onions and green chilies and fry till golden.

Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.

Add turmeric and mix well.

Add water, tomato, and salt to it and mix well. Add in soaked rice and dal. mix well.

Boil it.

Now cover and pressure cook till 4 to 5 whistles. Lower the flame and cook for 5 minutes.

Now mix well.

Take it out in a bowl and serve it by adding ghee and green coriander on top.
