Fried rice is a delicious dish made with a variety of ingredients. Here's a simple method to make fried rice:


Cooked rice (preferably leftover rice, as it works best)

Vegetables (such as carrots, peas, bell peppers, onions, and broccoli) Shredded

protein of your choice (such as chicken, shrimp, tofu, or scrambled eggs), chopped

garlic, minced

soy sauce

Oil (vegetable oil or sesame oil)

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Spring onions (scallions) for garnish.




Heat oil in a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat.

Add minced garlic and fry for a few seconds till fragrant.

Add vegetables and proteins to the pan and fry until they are cooked but still slightly crunchy. If using chicken, make sure it is fully cooked.

Add cooked vegetables and protein to one side of the pan and cooked rice to the other. Break any lumps of rice with a ladle.

Pour the soy sauce over the rice and fry everything together, mixing well to ensure that the rice is evenly coated with the soy sauce. Increase or decrease the quantity of soya sauce as per your taste.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Keep stirring for a few more minutes till the flavors meld well and the rice is heated through.

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped spring onions, if desired.

Serve fried rice as a main dish or as a side dish with your favorite Asian-inspired meal.
