Every region of our country has some food which has become very popular. Right now we are talking about the famous street food of South India, Mysore Bonda. It is prepared from a mixture of flour, curd and local spices. You can enjoy it as a light snack with tea. It has a unique taste and when served hot, it can make special occasions even more enjoyable. We are sharing an easy recipe to make this wonderful dish.

Material:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup rice flour

1/2 cup curd

2-3 tbsp finely chopped coriander

1/2 tsp cumin

2-3 green chillies (finely chopped)

1-inch piece of ginger (finely chopped)

Salt

1/3 teaspoon baking soda as per taste

Oil for frying

Instruction:

Take a big bowl and add flour to it. Mix rice flour, curd, cumin, green chilli, ginger, salt and baking soda.

Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring continuously, so that a smooth and thick batter is formed.

Beat the batter vigorously for 2-3 minutes until it becomes fluffy. Cover the batter and keep it aside for 5-10 minutes.

When the batter is ready, add some chopped coriander to it and mix well.

Heat oil in a pan for frying. The oil should be hot enough to fry the bonda.

Take a small portion of the batter in your hand and gently drop it into the hot oil.

Fry the bonda until golden brown, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.

When the bondas become crisp and golden, take them out from the oil and place them on a napkin paper-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Mysore Bonda is ready to serve. Enjoy it hot with tomato sauce or coriander chutney.
