Besan Chilla is a popular Indian dish made with gram flour and various spices. It is a simple and nutritious option for breakfast. Here's The Basic Method To Make Besan Chilla:

1 cup gram flour

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 small tomato, finely chopped

1 small green chili, finely chopped (adjust as per taste)

1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon red chili Powder (to taste)

Salt to taste

Oil or ghee for cooking

In a mixing bowl add gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well to combine dry ingredients.

Slowly add water while whisking the mixture. Keep adding water until you get a smooth batter of pouring consistency. There should be no lumps in the batter.

Put chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and green coriander in the batter. Mix everything together to evenly distribute the vegetables.

Heat a non-stick kadhai or frying pan on a medium flame. Add a few drops of oil or ghee and spread it evenly on the surface.

Pour a tablespoon of gram flour batter on the griddle and spread it gently in a circular motion to make a thin pancake-like layer.

Cook the cheela on a medium flame till the edges start rising and the underside turns golden brown and crisp.

Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges of the cheela and turn it over using a spatula.

Cook from the other side also till it gets cooked and turns golden brown.

Once cooked and crisp from both sides, take out the besan cheela on a serving plate.

Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more cheetahs, adding a little oil or ghee to the pan before each new cheela.

Serve hot Besan Chilla with green chutney, tamarind chutney, or curd. You can also enjoy it with chopped onions and tomatoes.
