Sattu Sharbat is a refreshing and nutritious drink made from sattu powder, which is roasted gram flour. It is a popular summer drink in India, known for its cooling properties. Learn here the easy recipe for making Sattu Sharbat:


Sattu Powder: 2-3 tbsp

Lemon Juice: 1 tbsp

Roasted Cumin Powder: 1/2 tsp

Black Salt: 1/2 tsp

Mint Leaves: Few sprigs (optional)

Cold Water: 2 cups

Ice cubes: to serve

In a mixing bowl add sattu powder, lemon juice, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and mint leaves. Mix well to combine the ingredients.

Pour cold water slowly into the bowl while stirring continuously to ensure that no lumps remain. Keep stirring till the mixture becomes smooth.

Taste the sherbet and adjust the flavor by adding more lime juice, salt, or roasted cumin powder, if desired.

Once the syrup is well mixed, strain it through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any remaining lumps.

Pour the strained sattu sharbat into a serving glass filled with ice cubes.

Garnish with mint leaves or sprinkle roasted cumin powder if desired.

Serve Sattu Sharbat chilled and enjoy.
