Poppy Seed Halwa Recipe

Material:

100 grams poppy seeds

100 grams sugar

1 cup milk

1/2 cup ghee

1 tablespoon chopped almonds

1 tablespoon chopped cashews

1 teaspoon cardamom powder

Instruction:

  • First of all, clean the poppy seeds and soak them in water overnight.
  • After soaking, take out the poppy seeds from the water and grind them finely with the help of a mixer. Add water as required while grinding.
  • Heat ghee in a pan on medium flame. When ghee melts, add ground poppy seeds to it.
  • Fry the poppy seeds until they turn golden brown.
  • Add milk and sugar to the roasted poppy seeds and stir continuously until the mixture thickens.
  • At some point, the halwa will start releasing ghee.
  • Now add chopped cashews, almonds and cardamom powder to the halwa. Mix well.
  • Cook the mixture for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined.
  • Your poppy seeds halwa is ready to be served hot.
