PM Vishwakarma Yojana: The Government of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti in 2023 to provide financial assistance to craftsmen and artisans. Through this scheme, financial assistance of up to Rs 15000 is given to poor people. Along with this, the people of the community also get a grant amount of Rs 500 through training.

How much loan is available under PM Vishwakarma Yojana?

Under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, along with training, craftsmen and artisans are also given a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh at only 5 percent interest. In this scheme, which was started with the aim of making all the artisans self-reliant, the loan is given in two installments. Let us tell you that Rs 13,000 crore will be spent on this scheme from the financial year 2023-24 to 2027-28.

What are the conditions for taking a loan under PM Vishwakarma Yojana?

To get a loan under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, some important conditions have to be fulfilled. After completing the basic training, the beneficiary becomes eligible to get a loan of up to Rs 1 lakh. Those who first get a loan of Rs 1 lakh and continue their work, they become eligible to take another loan of up to Rs 1 lakh.

Know in how many days the loan has to be repaid?

You have to repay the loan of up to Rs 1 lakh received under PM Vishwakarma Yojana in one and a half years i.e. 18 months. Only after you repay this loan, you are eligible to take a loan of Rs 2 lakh. The remaining loan of Rs 2 lakh has to be repaid in two and a half years i.e. 30 months.

Which businesses are included under PM Vishwakarma Yojana?

Under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, 18 types of businesses such as carpenter, blacksmith, locksmith, boat maker, goldsmith, potter, sculptor, cobbler, mason, gunsmith, broom maker, traditional doll and toy makers, barber, garland maker, washerman, tailor, hammer, basket, mat and fishing net makers have been included in micro, small and medium enterprises.

Purpose of PM Vishwakarma Yojana

The objective of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana is to identify traditional craftsmen and artisans and train them through skill development programs, assess their qualifications and abilities and provide them with modern tools. Along with this, Vishwakarma certificates are issued and they are linked to various markets.
