There are many schemes through which the government provides benefits to the needy and economically weaker sections. Some schemes provide subsidies to build houses, while others provide affordable or free housing. Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 three times a year. The 16th instalment of this scheme was released recently, but many farmers did not get its benefit, that is, their instalment got stuck. Let's find out the possible reasons behind this issue.

The 16th instalment was disbursed on February 28, 2024, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferring over Rs 9 crore to the bank accounts of over 90 million farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). However, some farmers faced difficulties as they did not get the benefits due to some errors.

These are the reasons behind the instalment stuck:

Non-completion of e-KYC (Know Your Customer):

Some farmers may not have completed the e-KYC process, which is mandatory to receive the instalment. It is advisable to check whether you have completed the e-KYC process or not. Failure to do so may result in the instalment getting stuck.

Land details not verified:

Farmers who did not get their land details verified also faced challenges in receiving the 16th instalment. Verification of land details was a condition, failing which the instalment got stuck.

Additional reasons:

Incorrect bank account information:

Farmers with incorrect bank account details, such as account number or account holder name, may also face problems with instalments.

Non-compliance with application form:

Farmers may be deprived of benefits due to mistakes in the application form such as errors in name, address, Aadhaar number etc.
