Pishta Peda: Make Pishta Peda for the family in summer

Pista Peda is a delightful Indian sweet that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Here's a recipe to make Pishta Peda at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted pistachios
- 1 cup condensed milk
- 1/2 cup milk powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A few strands of saffron (optional)
- Pistachio flakes or silver vark (edible silver foil) for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
In a blender or food processor, grind the unsalted pistachios into a fine powder. Set aside a small portion of the powdered pistachios for garnishing.
-
In a non-stick pan, heat the condensed milk over low heat. Add the milk powder and stir continuously to avoid any lumps.
-
Add the ground pistachio powder to the pan and mix well with the condensed milk and milk powder mixture.
-
Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring continuously, until it thickens and starts to come together like a dough. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
-
Add the cardamom powder and saffron strands (if using), and mix well.
-
Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly until it's comfortable to handle.
-
Grease your hands with a little ghee or oil, take small portions of the mixture, and shape them into round pedas.
-
Garnish the pedas with the reserved powdered pistachios, pistachio flakes, or silver vark if desired.
-
Allow the pedas to cool completely before serving. You can refrigerate them for a while to firm them up further.
-
Enjoy the delicious and creamy Pishta Pedas with your family during the summer.
