Along with the Government of India, payment companies are also taking many steps to promote digital payments. Now PhonePe users can make UPI payments in Singapore also.

PhonePe has signed a 2-year deal with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). After this deal, more than 800 merchants in Singapore can use the PhonePe app.

After this deal between PhonePe and STB, Indian tourists going to Singapore can also use PhonePe. In such a situation, the tension of exchanging currency will be eliminated in a way.

Ritesh Pai, Chief Executive Officer, PhonePe International Business of PhonePe Private Limited said

     Singapore which is much appreciated and celebrated among Indian travelers. The partnership with STB will bring ease of transactions for PhonePe users, who can now make payments directly from their existing bank account by scanning the QR code while visiting the island city.

How to use PhonePe in Singapore
     Install the PhonePe app.
     Now you have to link your bank in the app.
     After this, you just have to scan the Singapore merchant's QR code from the PhonePe app. After that payment will start through UPI.
