Parle-G Price Hike: The price of Parle-G Bus can be increased soon by the company. A report has revealed that Parle Products, the country's largest food product maker, can increase the prices of its products by up to 5% from January 2025. The increase in prices will also affect chocolates, snacks and other food items along with Parle-G biscuits. The changes made by the company can be implemented from January next year.

The weight of the packet of biscuits can also be reduced

According to the CNBCTV18 report, Parle products can also reduce the weight of its cheapest and lowest-priced packet. The report said that the weight of the most preferred 'Parle-G' biscuit packet can be reduced by 5 to 10 percent. The weight of other similar cheap biscuit packets can also be reduced. The media report said that rising raw material costs and increase in import duty on palm oil are impacting manufacturers.

The impact of increasing the cost of the product and increasing the import duty on palm oil has become necessary for the companies to increase the price of the product. Recently, the import duty on palm oil has been increased by the government. Palm oil is used to prepare biscuits. Earlier in 2021, Parle-G had announced a price hike of 5-10 per cent on its favourite products such as Parle-G, Hide & Seek and Crackjack.

The main reason for the increase in prices is the steep increase in the prices of raw materials such as sugar, wheat and edible oil. Apart from biscuits, the company had also hiked prices of rusks and cakes by 7-8 per cent. At that time, the price of Parle-G, the preferred glucose biscuit, was increased by 6-7 percent. However, the increase in the price of biscuits will be seen only in packs of more than Rs 20.
