Attention candidates wishing to become a Chartered Accountant (CA). According to a tweet by Dheeraj Khandelwal, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the CA exam will now be conducted thrice a year.

CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations will be conducted by ICAI three times a year. Sharing this information, Dheeraj Khandelwal said that by introducing examinations thrice a year for CA Foundation and Intermediate levels, ICAI has taken a welcome step in bringing a change beneficial for CA students. Although the official website (icai.org) has not updated the notice yet, it is expected to be released soon.

The Foundation and Intermediate exams for CA were conducted twice a year till now, but now candidates will have three opportunities. Further updates regarding this notice will be provided by the Institute of Chartered Accountants on its official website shortly.

Currently, to become a Chartered Accountant, candidates have to first appear for the ICAI Foundation Examination. This is the first step towards becoming a CA and is taken after passing the 12th-class examination. The second stage after passing the foundation exam is the CA Intermediate exam. There are two groups in this examination, each consisting of four subjects. The final stage after passing the Intermediate exam is the CA Final exam. Once the candidates pass this final examination, they receive the CA tag.

It is noteworthy that Ranjit Kumar Aggarwal has recently been elected the new President of ICAI. Earlier Aniket S Talati was on this post. Additionally, Charanjot Singh Nanda has been elected Vice President for the 2024-25 term.
