NEET UG 2024 exam on 5th May, know how many seats are there in which state!

The registration process for NEET UG 2024 is currently underway, and candidates can apply till March 16, 2024, to take the exam to be held on May 5 at designated centres across the country. Till now around 25 lakh candidates have applied for the exam. At present, there are a total of 1,07,948 medical seats in various states of the country.

In the last NEET UG exam held on May 7, with the results declared on June 13, more than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the exam and 11.45 lakh candidates were declared successful. The counselling process was conducted online.

MBBS seats increased:

As per the instructions of the Central Government, there has been an increase of 82 per cent in the seats in medical colleges. The number of colleges has increased from 387 in 2014 to 704 in 2023. Additionally, the number of MBBS seats has seen a 110% increase, from 51,348 in 2014 to the current 1,07,948. Additionally, PG seats have increased by 117%, from 31,185 to 67,802.

Medical colleges in the country:

The total number of medical colleges is about 704 with about 380 government medical colleges. There are about 21 private medical colleges, and about 258 medical colleges run by trusts.

MBBS seats in states:

There are a total of 68 medical colleges in UP, in which there are a total of 9903 MBBS seats. Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, the number of medical colleges is 27 and there are a total of 4800 seats. The total number of MBBS seats in Rajasthan is 5575 and there are 35 medical colleges. There are a total of 1497 seats in 10 medical colleges in Delhi. There are 2005 seats in Chhattisgarh, 2185 in Haryana, 7150 in Gujarat and a total of 180 seats in Goa. There are a total of 9 medical colleges in Jharkhand and there are 980 seats.
